Solidar Suisse for Southeast Europe, and Kosovo Gender Studies Center held the “Understanding the Institutional Landscape: Assessing Gender-Based Violence in Kosovo” conference on July 10th at Hotel Sirius, Prishtinë/Priština.
The event provided a great platform to present the project objectives and activities as well as findings from the baseline study, focusing on the role and the function of the Municipal Coordination Mechanisms against Domestic Violence including their challenges that they are facing with. An important part of conference was dedicated to the discussion’s session, enabling stakeholders to analyze, comment and/or validate the recommendations and findings from the study.
One of the key outcome of the event was a joint call for action aimed at achieving equitable and effective prevention, with regards to gender – based violence, developing and/or effectuating early warning mechanisms, and provisioning support services to potential victims in Kosovo.
This conference is part of the project “Preventing Gender-Based Violence Through Education and Awareness Raising” implemented by Solidar Suisse SEE and Kosovar Gender Studies Center, with financial support from the European Union.
