Preventing Gender Based Violence Through Education and Awareness Raising
Project objectives
Objective 1: Raise awareness across the community[1] and general public that violence against women is a human rights violation and encourage every citizen to challenge it.
Objective 2: Promote the implementation of effective measures for preventing and combating violence against women at the national and local level.
Project Outputs:
Output 1: Society is informed that violence and discrimination against women are human rights violations;
Output 2: Enhanced capacities of at least 30 workers in the Central and municipal authorities, Municipal Community Police, CSOs, in preventing and combating of violence against women through training sessions;
Output 3: A Municipal Coordination Mechanisms on Protection from Domestic Violence is enhanced and functional in six municipalities;
Output 4: Awareness-raising campaign developed and conducted through its three elements: Three conferences, videos and digital production;
Output 5: Enhanced education and knowledge of at least 500 students, teachers and other educational staff on gender equality and preventing the fight against domestic and gender-based violence and gender equality at all Kosovo ethnic communities;
Output 6: Key gender and specific GBV behaviours are analysed and addressed through a baseline and end-line study.
Targeted area: Pristina, Gjakova, Prizren, Gjilan, Mitrovica and Kamenica
Implemented by: Solidar Suisse and The Kosovar Gender Studies Center supported by the European Union represented by the European Commission.
Timeframe: 36 months (01.01.2023 -31.12.2025).
